Writing Out Numbers in ResumeThe first mistake a resume writer can make is that they aren't careful about writing out numbers. Numbers should always be written out, especially if they are very large or very small. It's true that a lot of people think that because a number is very small, it means it's very important, but you don't want to make it look like an afterthought.A number should always be written out. This doesn't mean that you have to use long words when writing the number. The number should always be written out because it will become part of your resume and the impression that you will leave on the person reviewing your resume.If there are a lot of numbers, it's time to figure out which one to include. The reason for this is that there will be a huge confusion among readers as to what the actual number is. It's not that you have to list them all, but it's best to put more numbers where the information is most needed. Or, you can ask the applicant to point out which number they want to be in the upper-right corner.When you are planning to take time to write out the numbers and place them in order, you will have to write out a lot of numbers at once. This is not too bad because it's a lot easier to do this if you have a calculator in front of you. There is no reason to not use the calculator.You can also take some time to use the calculator and figure out which numbers can go in which order. This is going to make your resume look professional, but you should still remember to write them out as the applicant asks for them. Don't leave it up to chance.After you have decided on which numbers to include in the reading section, write them out so that they are organized so that they are easy to read.
